Overview

Luis F. Calvo is a litigation attorney in San Diego with extensive experience representing clients in complex disputes. He has successfully litigated cases to verdict, judgment, or award. His practice encompasses a broad range of legal issues, including insurance coverage, catastrophic personal injury, insurance defense, business disputes, investment claims, employment law, and intellectual property. Luis works closely with clients to develop strategic, business-oriented solutions. Additionally, Luis works on pro bono matters, having represented underserved clients with asylum petitions and removal proceedings.

Luis began his legal career at a law firm in Mexico City, where he represented Fortune 50 companies in government contracts and antitrust matters. He earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he served as an Editor of the Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and was a member of Fordham’s Moot Court team. He also received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award for his work in Fordham’s Securities Arbitration Clinic and Legal Outreach. Luis further holds a Master of Laws in International Business & Trade Law from Fordham and a Bachelor of Laws from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico.

  • Secured dismissal of $400k breach of contract AAA Arbitration claim
  • Defense jury verdict in a construction dispute in Texas State Court
  • Directed verdict in investment dispute involving non-traded REITs
