Jazmine Pelayo’s practice focuses on complex coverage litigation, premises liability, products liability, construction, and business disputes. Jazmine’s clients benefit from her vast experience, with an emphasis on risk transfer, which can dramatically minimize, or eliminate, her clients’ exposure.

Jazmine represents a wide variety of clients at both the federal and state level. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, including insurance companies, energy companies, developers, general contractors, bars and restaurants, trucking companies, non-emergency transport companies, and product manufacturers and distributors. She also represents public entities and municipalities.

Experience

  • Successfully defended a large Texas barricade company in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit involving a multi-vehicle collision resulting in a catastrophic injury. After key depositions and discovery, client prevailed on summary judgment in Travis County, Texas.
  • Successfully represented a soils engineering firm in a toxic tort case wherein Plaintiffs alleged exposure to deadly spores. Client prevailed on summary judgment in Los Angeles, California.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of engineering firm sued for alleged road design defects in Orange County, California.
  • Obtained summary judgment in Los Angeles County on behalf of a national builder in a premises liability case.
  • Represented a high-tech heavy/civil construction firm in a lawsuit wherein the plaintiffs alleged property damage exceeding $300 million in Houston, Texas. After several key depositions and expert discovery, the case against the client settled for less than 0.001% of the claimed damages.
  • Represented large California general contractor in securing coverage and reimbursement of defense fees incurred in underlying litigation.
